Radiators

So somehow I managed to get four big holes in my radiator and it's unrepairable. Can someone school me on radiators.

Copper/Brass? Pros or Cons

Aluminum Core with plastic tanks? (I am not sure what they mean by tanks:eek:)

All Aluminum?

Or there seems to be all kinds of mixes of the metal/plastic.

Is there a best or just an ok? I figure since it looks as though I have to buy a new one I might as well get the best I can. Its for a 1991 fj80 with the 3FE.

If you want "old Shool", all brass and copper can't be beat.

Aluminumm, if it say's "Ron Davis" it's hard to beat (if you think you need that much).

Plastic and metal, don't even consider (the "O" ring WILL fail, sooner or later)

go with brass/copper, its easily repaired (soldered) if you get a pin leak.

Radiator barn has one for $285

The one that came out leaked just about everywhere. It was a plastic/?. Those Ron Davis radiators look neat and $$$$$. Sounds like Copper Brass is the way to go. I was reading online here and it sounds like there are different tube sizes for better cooling/flow, Does it make that big of a difference?

Ya the plastic one's aren't the best but I have one in mine and I've run it for two years with no issues so far. The only reason I got it was it was way cheap. Ya get what ya pay for thou.:D
