Have any of you put a remote start on a diesle truck? I have an 04 ford. How would they work with the glow plug? Is there a delay on the remote start? Or is this just not possible?

It requires a timed relay. My truck has one. They are not on the easy side of installs. I would call Ryan if you in SLC and have Car Concepts do it. Money well spent.

You can used a timed relay or on a good remote start you can tag the 'wait to start' light and use that. Thats probably the best.

You'll need a bypass for the ford factory passlock system.

plug it in? how does that remote start it?

plugging it in in the winter is deffinately a good idea.

Chad, if you're not pretty comfortable with wiring things, I would probably go talk to Ryan Goeller (ryslc) at Car Concepts and have him do it. Those newer vehicles...especially diesels...are not necessarily easy to install remote starts into.
