I am a little late getting this posted, but better late than never.
The 4th year of the Grand Mesa Jeep Club's Offroad Show in Grand Junction, and the second year of Rock Junction happened the first weekend in June this year.
Rock Junction is by invitation, and went from 11 rigs in 2010, to 40 this year.
The premise is a group starts out in Grand Junction each day, for 3 days in a row, and goes out to a trail. The location of Grand Junction plays a great part in this plan, as it is 1.5 hours to Montrose, Moab, or Rangely, all great wheeling destinations. On top of that we have some great local trails as well. This year we divided into 6 groups, from 33-35 inch tires, 35-37 inch tires, full body 37s and up, mostly body37s and up , and two buggy groups.
The groups scattered like quail on Wednesday. Wednesday the buggy groups combined because not everyone could make it, and we all went out to area BFE.
We ran Lock Jaw, and Green Day, Minor Threat, and Helldorado. Suicide Hill was a favorite.
