Sounds like they need to get rid of some internal bloat and figure out what they hell they are doing. They can't meet the demand of new customers? Come on... it's not like the new customers are not paying their bills!? :ugh:

You know all of those "turn off your lights" ads? It was to allow them to export "saved" power out of state for higher profits. Can't blame them, but there is always ulterior motives in that business.

This ultimatum is business tactic and they will probably win. Look who owns Pacificorp now days...

I know what you mean. Investor Owned Utilities or IOU's are bad for that.

I work for a Cooperative where everyone that is on the system owns the company and you have a right to vote on what happens. They elect a board from each of the areas that they represent and they make the decisions for the company.

We seem to always be fighting the providers for some reason or another.

Hmm... Interesting. Are they doing the same thing in the other states that they service, or is it just Utah? People will probably call me a socialist, but sometimes I really wish that the utilities were operated by the state.

Well, I'll agree especially when there's no other realistic choice for most people or competition in the market.

I believe that this is just for the Utah residents because it was presented before the Utah Public Services Commission. They would have to present it to each of the states separately.

I guess it's good I'm on Murray Power...

You might be inadvertantly affected by this because Rocky Mountain Power is the Transmission Provider for most of the transmission lines to all of the state. Murray City probably receives their power from Rocky Mountain Power lines or ones maintained by them.

I don't know how Murray City's system is set up, but most of the time Rocky Mountain provides the transmission lines to a large substation where there is a breaker to split the load to the various entities that they wheel to.
