Rust

I was casually glancing at 1st Gen Tacoma's and found an 2001 AC out in MN. Thought it might be a fun solo or +1 hunting/camping rig. Exterior looks super clean; however, the undercarriage looks like below. Is any amount of $$ saved on a good deal worth this? Seller says just "surface rust." To me, it says "drill, tap; drill, tap; drill, tap."

With Tacos having known rust issues (and a recall to boot) and the fact that it is from MN, I'd pass unless it was a REALLY good deal. Rust is a miserable bitch to deal with.
