I'm trying to keep everyone updated on the proceedings in the trial pitting San Juan County and the State of Utah against the federal government. Check here for my article. http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-19954-Salt-Lake-City-Outdoorsman-Examiner~y2009m10d10-Closing-arguments-heard-in-Salt-Creek-public-access-controversy

I'm tried to present a balanced article, though I side with allowing limited driving on the road (a certain number of permits issued each day). Just so you know where I'm coming from. Let me know what you think.

I for one would like to know what the outcome will be. I have posted on here a few times on the circumstances of the situation. I would be in favor of limiting the number of vehicles just for the opportunity to see some of that back country again. Thanks for the update.

Anytime. There are a lot of related controversial issues out there right now, but especially this one and the Red Rock Wilderness Bill. I believe that one's gotta be stopped.

I posted this yesterday on the other thread.

Saw another post today, the judge is mulling it over. Salt Creek that is.

After reading Judge Jenkins bio I don't hold out much hope for him making a good decision for us. He was a Utah State Democrat, appointed to the Fed bench by Jimmy Carter, and made what I consider to be a wrong decision on the Lesbian teacher case brought by the ACLU. It looks like he is a tree hugger.

Well, it will be interesting. I wonder if it will be appealed to the Supreme Court if the state and county lose this one, or if that battle will be fought elsewhere.
