Salt Lake City Area Trail books

Jeep,

I may be able to do an evening run with you after work sometime. :)

AF Canyon is a nice spot and will be closest to where you are.

Kalen
AF will probably be the first place I hit. July 28th will not be good but 29th will work or any day after.
I will PM you my contact info.
So far what I have seen from Google earth is amazing so I am really excited about the trip.

I was told that the people from this forum were great, I see why.

I arrived Monday at 12:00 and so far what I have seen up to now is amazing. This is a beautiful state. I have not done any wheeling except for driving to Park City via Big Cotton Wood. I plan on hitting AF Canyon tomorrow and try some of the trails there.

So "tomorrow" would be the 30th, guessing you didn't get to AF Canyon today?

If your going tomorrow, or want to go still, I'd be willing to caravan with ya. Do you have a set time yet? Meeting place?

Today I was playing nice husband since I took my wife to shop at outlets of Park City. Tomorrow I plan on being there after 10 AM. let me know if that is good and don't know the area well but if you have a good meeting place located between Snowbird and AF Canyon let me know.

I will check this post again in the morning but I plan on being at AF Canyon at 10:00 AM and planning on first doing Forest Lake trail and second Mary Ellen Gulch. If any one wants to join reply back and give me a meeting place and I will be there. be specific because as you know I am from Florida so all I have is my trusty GPS with coordinates of a trails in AF Canyon.

10:00 am might be a bit early for me. I need to finish rebuilding my rear upper control arm. I need to hit Teraflex Plus in the morning for a parts run but I can get there at 8:00 am when they open. If I can get it together in time I'll get back to ya.

Also, I am guessing that you have a computer considering that your posting on here but I guess it could be a phone or similar. But if you have google earth you can look on there for places to meet up.

How about Cabela's parking lot? They list there gps cooridnates as: N 40 degrees 26.227' W 111 degrees 53.364. AF Canyon is then just straight up that road.

Well Scrogg and I had a great day today at AF Canyon. We ran Forest Lake and then Mary Ellen Gulch. Unfortunately the section after the bypass to silver mines was so bad that for the stocker I was drivivng that we decided o take the bypass and checked out silver mine. As soon as I get the pictures loaded up to Flickr I will post them.

I want to thank all of you who helped out with trails and suggestions and to scrogg for meeting me for the ride at AF Canyon. He coached me while navigating the obstacles on both trails (Mary Ellen Gulch and Forest Lake).

Since I am only familiar with flat muddy terrain I probably wouldn't of done all I did without his advise.

I also got the chance to go to Moab on Saturday Aug 2nd and met up with a friend of a Club member I belong to and he gave me a guided tour on Poison Spider Mesa and Hell's Revenge. What a great state for 4wheeling. I now think I will work towards building my rig for rocks and I intend to visit Utah again in the future. I also plan on going to Ouray, Co and ride Imogene Pass

Here is a link to the pictures I took. 800 plus :D
