On Thursday night I met up with Kurt & Tyson, in Wellington where the trip started. Catherine, Daisy (our dog) and I joined Kurt & Tyson for a expedition-type trip to the San Rafael Swell. The plan was to cover a lot of ground in one day and see as many of the neat sites as possible.

I'll let Kurt fill in the exact details & locations, since he planned it & I don't want to steal his thunder. But here's a few pics from the Swell!

Kurt posing in front of 'Joes Office', which was lived in previous to the cabin being built-

After seeing Swasey Cabin, we dropped into the Eagle Canyon. The road got a bit more difficult at this point. I actually slid into a rock here & managed to scratch up the XJ.-

That's all I have for the Swell, I'll let Kurt fill in the rest & add more cool pics. :)

I didn't break out the camera for the U4WDA tral ride on Saturday, but I believe a few of the people I was with took some good pics. I ended up running Strike Ravine with a lot of other people. I wasn't paying attention at one point & apparently got too close to a large boulder... look at the drivers door in the following pics. So much for getting sliders on before any damage. It was fun to watch Steve (aka scoutabout) push a rental TJ to it's limits, he did great! It was a wet, muddy mess, but we had a great time. I met & saw many RME'ers and enjoyed the time spent with friends.

On Sunday we took the XJ out to Hells Revenge and played around on the diffrent challenges. I tried Dump Bump, but got denied. I knew with enough throttle I'd make it up, but didn't want to risk breaking my wifes rig, so I called it quits while I was ahead.-

Looks like a REALLY fun trip! It's been a long time since I've been to the Swell.

And coming back up. I got a small wheel stand coming out, which made it a bit exciting.-

It was a blast! I believe we did close to 100 miles offroad on friday... right Kurt? 3 days of wheelin' and camping. It was good time, I was amazed at how many little places there were. You could really spend a lot of time out there and see something diffrent each time.

I saw some of the same stuff you did, although some of them we saw from a distance. (Dutchman Arch) I did Eva Conover road, Devil's Racetrack, Eagle Canyon...visited the Hanta Cabin (Swasey's). Good times!
