going to do this trail next weekend, and install a sign around the corner from the first obstakle which is called "hubscratcher" the sign states:
Hanging Tree trail, front and rear lockers 35" tires and a winch Highly recommended, along with spare parts and friends to help you out, this trail has Rocks, Steps, Waterfalls and Mud. This trail is approximately 10 miles long and all are welcome to attempt its obstacles, but the property at the top of the trail is private with locked gates on the road out; therefore you will need return thour the trail So plan accordingly. Please help keep this trail open and respect the landowners property. PLEASE, IF YOU PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT.
the sign was made a few years ago, and never installed.

I finally got a chance to run this trail this year. It was a blast, I hope to do it again.

I would also like Hanging Tree to stay open. My Scout literally grew up on that trail. I probably have made more trips on HTT than any other trail.

Would a group of us going down on a week end to mend fences and cleanup help the property owners see that we care about the land and trail as much as they do? My in laws have property above Mt. Pleasant.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
Keep all trails open you eco-hippy long-haired peace-freeks, even Hanging Tree Trail.

Ben Cheslak

Not even sure how to follow this one...

Even if you guys are eco-hippy long-haired peace-freeks, I'm sure Ben meant it in the nicest possible way because, after all, we need your support in this as well.

Please let us continue to play in your backyard.

Has anyone had a discussion with the land owner(s)?? Might go a long way towards keeping the trail open. It's been suggested to try a Pritchett-style small fee deal.

Yes there have been small talk discussions with the property owners, that said there actually four property owners, and of these property owners, they are family partnership/ownership, and some of the families dont get along with the other families. The best we can do is be good stuards of the trail and try and not invade there privacy. we put up a sign at the first obstacle saturday.. Ill get pix up later, also broke a dana 60 shaft. It was a good ride.
