Although it mostly broke in the middle of the weld (instead of pulling away from the material) I was feeling pretty bad about my weldability when I saw this a few weeks ago....

When I went to fix it today I saw this and felt much better

A hunk of DOM actually tore loose from the horizontal tube... that was a lot of pressure.

Cracks could have originated in the welds and spread. Those welds don't appear to great to begin with. Quite a bit of porosity too.

No, my welds are never pretty but they generally hold. These pictures were taken after nearly a month of sitting in the rain, but right after it happened there was no rust anywhere inside. In the tube's current state (missing several pieces of DOM and no gussets) I still get a lot of flex in that front end.
