I love this photo, but its so misleading. It makes it seem like you're in this lonely, empty place. But it was SO CROWDED there. Everywhere in the Swell, really.
At the same time, I really didn’t want to take pictures of all of the people... or of your dad at the same time trying to stuff Maddy back in the car. That’s not what I want to remember out there.

It was hard to get photos especially at Lucky Strike with all of the damn side by sides around. I’m hoping it was just busy with the last of the Spring break weekend and it isn’t always like that.

The only place I felt like no one was around was the first campsite. Everywhere else was crazy.

You guys saw a lot of cool stuff! We had a great time down there as well, but didn't see nearly the things you did! We will definitely be going back, I couldn't believe how beautiful it was there.

did anybody get a GPS track of the trip? Looking at the pictures I think I might like to run it solo when my leg is better.
Also, how was the traffic? Lots of people like I saw?

PM me and I can get you a GPS track if you want.

It was chaos down there. Places that just a few years ago you'd see no one for days would have a dozen camps set up. Lucky Strike had two groups of ~10 SxS's roll through in the hour we were there. The Wedge overlook was a WalMart parking lot on Black Friday and Buckhorn Draw was I-15. Tomische Butte and Hidden Splendor were packed. Lots of new tracks off trail. Plenty of evidence of SxS's rallying up the sides of hills and acting like its the sand dunes. Sadly, this was probably the last trip I'll every take to these parts of the Swell it's just become overrun.

That is a damn shame. We never ran into you guys, and go figure about the off trail stuff. Would definitely be nice if common sense was used in this world. I don't even know where half these places are.
