Feel free to test this out or use in your threads as needed.
Quote me to see how it's done. You can use GPS coordinates as well.

[map]Moab, UT[/map]

Post up if this doesn't work in your browser.

test:

[map]http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=84043&daddr=UT-10+S+to:ferron,+ut&hl=en&sll=39.7533,-111.360155&sspn=1.731471,2.469177&geocode=FaKpaAIdaqdU-SnLhKB2qn5NhzHFzGdXdMpheQ%3BFbJKVgIdgOhh-Q%3BFU-FVAId1z1g-SmPjOR6MOJLhzHhcEUE3KRg4w&gl=us&mra=ls&t=h&z=9[/MAP]

It's almost working. It's cutting off the last point.

I really want to find out if you can plot coords to display routes, other than just following the routes it knows.

Like this? These are the routes for little wildhorse canyon down by Goblin Valley. For some reason it's still losing plot C and E.

The kmz file has to be hosted. Just put the url to the kmz file between the [ map ] tags.

oh man, that is too cool. I thought KMZs were limited to google earth only. That's a game-changer there. My next question is, can I create a KMZ file in google maps, or do I have to do it in Google Earth?

I looked up "Google maps tricks" and kmz importing was one of the topics. Way cool! Currently the only way I know how to create them is in Earth, but I'm betting there is another way.

I do too. Loads way faster too.

I'm thinking about possibly using this as the preview, then displaying the interactive map when you click... maybe?
