Who are you going to use to have it powder coated? I've had excellent results using Steel Coatings in SLC for wheels. They actually prep things correctly before powder. And their oven is huge. I think they can do a dumptruck bed. Matt Hayes was the name of the feller I worked with.
I haven't decided who I'll use. I'd forgotten about Steel Coatings. I used to go there a lot about 20 years ago.

Put some more work in today. I decided to build the ramps today because I was sick of tripping over the 20' stick of angle iron.

I also added some drop leg thingers.

And then I capped the open tube ends, because this thing is getting parked outside this week.

well you picked a great week to store it outside :p

it looks awesome
Good thing it's getting blasted before coated. Most of the steel has a ton of that oily residue they put on it. It'll mostly just rust where I've been welding on it, which will make my welds look extra shitty.

Next up is the flooring or decking for the wheel buckets. I originally planned to use 14 gauge tread plate but the steel supplier goofed and gave me normal 14 gauge. Tread plate of the same gauge is actually thicker, so I'm a little worried about the decking sagging.

I can dimple die the floor plates but the width of the plates are 16" and my press is only like 20", so that will force my dimples to the center. I also need to make a way for drainage.

So I'm thinking I need to add shape to my 14 gauge steel to keep it from sagging and still make it drain.

I've been contemplating cutting the plate in 16"x12" pieces and forming the edges like the floors on those Echo trailers for ATV's.

For this, I need to make tooling.

I should have just bought expanded steel. 🤦‍♂️

I haven't touched a big metal brake like that since Junior High. I'm pretty sure my back will remind me tomorrow morning. That's quite a workout for an old guy.
