The concrete is still green, and would be easily damaged if winched to at this time.
The eye bolt. Got the biggest one that would take a stock winch hook.
Piece of 3/8" plate, drilled, bolted, then welded.
3"x5" 1/4" wall tube.
Here you can see our supplies. We used 16 bags of concrete mix.
The beginning of the hole. It was pretty rocky, and we had to pound through a few small shelfs with the digging bars. Luckily, this rock fractures very easily. It would not have been good rock to drill into.
The hole, about 3/4 done.
The kicker leg we welded onto the main post. We used a Ready Welder. I need to get one of these bad boys.
The post in position, ready for concrete. We pounded rebar where we could get it through the rock to help tie everything together.
The hole filled with concrete, with some rocks over the top. We covered the concrete with rock because we buried the post until the concrete cures.
