toyota 4x2 vs. 4x4 rearend

what is the difference in the rear-ends between say an 85 toyota 4x2 truck and an 85 toyota 4x4 truck?? i was looking for a toyota rearend to swap into my samurai at picknpull today and all they had were 4x2 toy trucks, so i was wondering if i could use the rearend out of a two wheel drive truck or not? i figured it probably had smaller/weaker axle shafts or somethin...?

i don't kow toyotas as well as zuks, but i would guess that there isn't a difference.

The 2WD are 5 lug, 7.5" ring gear. Also the shafts are a smaller diameter.

4WD are 6 lug, 8" ring gear. 86-94 are 3" wider and have bigger brakes than 85 and below
