Toyota Axle?

What is the difference between a 1981 rear axle and a 1994 rear axle out of the pickup? i heard something about the width. Can i use the third member from the 1981 in the 1994?

PS Both truck are 4cyl

well there are several diferences. is it a 4cylinder or a v-6 houseing? The gears are the same. The v-6 has bigger bearings on the carrier and some have anti lock break stuff in them. the housings are wider by three inches, and the rear brakes are bigger by like 2inches.
What else do you want to know. Oh yes you can use it. Swap the whole housing though. you will want wider anyways. Just take EVERYTHING from the parking brake relay back.
