Toyota Gas Tanks - Which are the same?

Does anyone know which Toyota (4Runner and pickup) gas tanks are the same? It looks like I might be needing to replace one for my 84 4Runner (22R). Are the pickup and 4Runner gas tanks the same?

I found a puddle under my 4Runner this weekend after I parked on a downward slope in AF Canyon. Maybe this helps to explain my horrible gas mileage?

You may want to check the top gasket and see if it is leaking. Your runner has an access door under the rear seat. Just undo the 6-7 screws and check if it has been leaking. Especially where you were parked on an angle. As for tanks, I think you need to stick with a 4-runner tank, because they are plastic and the one in my '88 PU is steel. I don't know if there are any other differences.

Actually, because my 4Runner has a 22R, I do not have the access door.
