my toyota has a weber carb so i thought that fixes the problem of it running like crap on a steep angles? its like it floods its self? how can i fix this problem without converting efi?
I thought all webbers flooded out at steep angles. When I had one I put it on backwards so it would flood out going down instead of up but that was also bad because dead engine equals no power steering or power brakes.
The stock toyota carbs are much much better on angles (and in general) than a weber. The only tip I know of to make a weber run better on angles is with a fuel pressure regulator, or like Zukking said, run it backwards.
I have yet to see a Weber compare with the stock Aisin carb offroad. Running them backwards helps (a little) for inclines but the having the engine not flood on declines is also important imo.
For my money I would sell the Weber and get a stock carb. Run the floats so that the fuel is in the bottom of the sight glass and install a regulator. I run it this way and it takes a LOT to flood it out. I also had better re-starts with my electric fuel pump so I might go back to that one day... These help too:
If your not worried about emmisions you can really clean up your engine bay by eliminating a bunch of smog stuff on the stock carb. If your ever interested I can provide some pics of mine.
