My traction bar is starting to peel my housing apart. How would you go about fixing this? Can you just weld it back up? I knew the F8.8 axle tubes are a little thin, but not this bad!

What caused it in the first place? Bad welding?

Thanks for any help.

Hard to tell from the pick but a bigger bracket that wraps the axle a bit more will always help. Give it a good grind then weld it up, just try to penitrate the tube a bit more.

I would weld it up nice and then tie the traction bar bracket into the the pumpkin to help distribute the torque.

reinforcement, and spread out the load i.e. bigger brackets.

The welds are plenty strong if it's tearing the housing and not the weld.

Oh, and I'll help. :D. Braden and I are working on Junk at my house tomorrow if you want to come weld.
