I have an unpleasant noise(s) from the transmission that is the input shaft/bearing. As well as an obviously stretched chain in the transfer case.
The vehicle is a 2007 Jeep JK Rubi unlimited with the manual 6 speed (NSG-370) and factory transfer case (NP241). I don't think there are any real options for the tranny other than just getting it fixed. I'm looking for a good place to have that done if you got any suggestions.
As far as the transfer case is concerned, I am considering either having the transfer case rebuilt or maybe making the jump to an atlas II. I have researched a bit about the install of an atlas in the JK and it all seems well and fine for the most part. The concerns I have with the atlas are the electrical/computer and the a clean finish in-cab for the shifters. Anyone have some good suggestions on who to talk to about the atlas and completing an install of one?
