A fella named Charles Schrock put a turbo on his 4 cylinder TJ a number of years ago. I lost touch with him, but I heard it run and it sounded like it would hold up. I bet he checks in on this board periodically. I know he was selling ZJ/XJ/TJ bumpers out of Schrock Steel Development (SSD) too. http://schrocksteel.com/contact.html

I used to own a 1985 turbo Dodge Daytona. I think that the engine was a 2.2 liter. You could also get a turboed Dodge throughout the 1980's, though rare. Unless I am mistaken you can turbo any engine as long as your compression ratio is up for it. I am unsure as to what kind of a compression ratio you would be looking at but, if you want it bad enough anybody can do it. Hardest part is the plumbing of the air intake. You may want to talk to some Diesel performance shops as they replace trubos all the time. You may be able to get a trubo, that may work for you, for a good price from the shop.
