Upgrading Daily Driver
I am looking to upgrade my DD from a Samurai to possibly a ZJ. I am currently looking at a 95 with the 5.2 and the Quadra-trac TC. This vehicle appears to be mechanically sound and cosmetically flawed. My question concerns the transfer case option for the ZJ. This Quadra-trac is a full time system while the Select-trac and the Command-trac options were part time.
While this would be a DD I would also like the best choice for trail and expedition style off-roading. Also, if I were to mildly build this with a lift and maybe limited slips or an ARB, which TC would be the best choice?
Did the 5.2 only come with the full time system? Would I need to look for the 4.0 for the part time TC's?
Coming from the mechanically simple Samurai (locked with 4:1 TC) to something that had options is a big step. If one of the ZJ experts here on RME, such as Cody, (I'm a long time lurker here) could offer some guidelines it would be great.
