Some of this has been covered in other threads on this forum recently, and while some of that article is misleadingly presented, he does make some valid points. Utah has no plan in place now, and apparently none is really forthcoming, to deal with the fiscal vacuum pulling the Feds out would create.

As for UT's schools, it's a nice emotional drum to beat, but I'm not convinced throwing money at the issue would really help. I'm sure we're not building roads instead of educating kids.

What Tacoma said plus if there were no money making organizations like Suwa out there users of Public Federal Lands would not have the problems we now have.
