I've got my eye on a 94 wrangler for 6 grand. it has the straight 6 injected with the 5 speed. it has the 35c rear and the 30 front. it also has 3 inches of suspension and 2 inches of body lift on 33's and some nice aluminum rims. 93k miles on it......good paint, california car. it has been wrecked but I can see no evidence of a poor job and I have crawled all over it. the only drawback is that the tires are bald and the lights on the dash went out...probably a fuse but that is all I can see for now...talk to me people.

If you do get it and the dash lights are more than just a fuse(I doubt it is though) I have a dash that is going to be coming out of my 94 pretty soon...

Genral stuff (you allready know)
I also bring a Jack and a couple of 2x4s and jack up the rear to see if anything is wierd.(2x4 are to cock the front) Sometimes you can hear thing/ feel without the vehicle running.
Front you can check the bearings with it Jacked up.
Ask if you can pull one of the plugs see what it looks like.
Crawl under it and give it the white glove test.
Even pull the diff plug and check it that way.
Does it have everything YOU want ie. Hard top AC Soft top stuff like that.
If it is lifted was it done correct?
Does the BL interfer with shifting or the xfer case?
The above is important also twisted up for off road.
Check the radiator fluid and oil.
You get the general Idea.
Let the seller know hey its my $$$ I am spending and I am going to nit pick and check this vehicle over.

Good Luck

I crawled under it and the tranny was spotless!! the t-case had some drippage out of the tailshaft housing but that is not surprising. it was not severe but present. the front diff was dry as a bone. the rear has what could be interpreted as blow back from the tail-shaft housing. the drivers rear drum brake cylinder might have some seepage but nothing severe.

the vehicle needed to be gone around with a set or wrenches and tighened down. the lift was installed and never checked thereafter so it is in some need of tightening.

two body mounts were loose.
the axle end of the trac-bar was loose.
the hard top was missing half of the bolts around the tub indicating frequent removal.

according to KBb.com I am getting a good deal
I had it checked by an emissions specialist and it passed with flying colors. the brakes also passed their inintial inspection.

basically the only things I need to do are fix the dash lights, get new tires, and go around it with some wrenches and tighten everything!! other than that the deal is set for tomorrow!!

the advantage to my employment is that I drive less than 10 miles round trip :) DD=anything with a top :) this just happens to have many of the things I need in a multi-purpose vehicle. I really want my lifted explorer back, that was ideal for me!!

do a compression test on the engine...believe me, it will be worth it and it doesn't take much time.

You should have over 130 lbs in every cyl.
