What transmission would you use?

I acquired I Mercedes 300d 3L NA. Don't really know what I want to do with it. It runs just fine and I think I want to mate it to a 6 speed manual and find a small truck to drop it in. What transmission would you guys use and why?

Great engine I'd probably just use the stock automatic because it's there and it's easy. As for a manual (if I was doing a swap into a small pickup) I'd probably go with a Toyota 5 speed because they're super reliable, cheap, they're everywhere and there's an available adapter which takes all the guess work out of it. I don't have the Mercedes automatic :/ That is a nice kit but yea a little on the spendy side. The yota 5 speed is pretty solid but I'm hoping for a bit more over drive for hwy mpg.

This guy used the yota trans and made his own adapter kit.

Seems like there is plenty of support for the 5 speed.
