When prepping for a day or days on the trail, what are some of your pre-trip inspection items?

We had a recent oops, due to some missing bolts. 2 were missing, and the last 2 sheered off. We have no idea if the bolts came out while on the trip, or prior to. They are now an item to check regularly.

Some of my typical items include the obvious air pressure, spare tire, oils, etc.

What are items that should be a 'must check'?

Everything that connects the tire to the frame. I also like to check engine/trans mounts, transfer case adapter bolts and drivelines and yokes. Usually is a good start for me.

Well my short list of things I need to check before each trip (some I double check between trails)
Steering studs (break easy if they become loose)
U-bolts (center pin problems if they loosen up)
Fluid levels
Drivelines (joints and bolts)
Tire pressures
Hub studs (shear off if they loosen up)
Shackle bolts (work loose over time)
Cooler for ice and beverage, should probably be top of the list....
