What's the trick??

So I am replacing the brake master cylinder on my 85 4runner and I can not for the life of me get the brake fluid reservoir off the old MC to transfer it to the new MC. What is the trick?? I see that the hole that the reservoir goes in is threaded, but when I try to unscrew the reservoir it just spins and spins.
I am looking for the insight and wisdom of my RME family.

try and pull up a little as you turn it, sometimes the threads get a little to far down in there ans dont start coming back.

So you couldnt find a master that came with a reservoir? When i replaced my 1991's it had one on the new master. I found one on rockauto.com for your runner for 45 bucks just in case something brakes on yours
