Why does RME have a negative reputation?

Old thread revival.....

I have been here for a while (although with a different username,,,) I initially decided to not come to RME because of what I felt was a wrong doing to a good friend that was a member here. However, looking back on that I was stupid and childish. Thats why I reregistered. I dont post here much because of a couple reasons,,
1. I drive a Land Rover,, not much interest in those here
2. I am not interested in swapping 60's under the rig and running 40's,, I tend to visit boards that are more daily driver oriented
3. You can only read so many forums each day,, lol

I dont think that RME is bad, it has its place. I just think that most members are more interested in the "hardcore" wheeling, and tend to drive more common 4x4's.

I would say the main reason RME has a negative rep. is all the people who come on for sale threads on stuff they don't plan on buying and post their oppinions and try to keep people from buying it. I see it all the time and it is usually the same people doing it over and over maybe if they started getting a warning and suspended for a time it would start to help I know of more than a few people who no longer come on here because of this.

PLEASE help us out and report posts when you see that happening.

It is against our rules and we have plans of action to take when it does happen. We just don't catch a lot of it going on. :)

I havent' seen any of it. Then again, I'm NEVER on here...

I like it here, I think there's a good mix of hardcore with po' folk like me who don't have a trailer or a nice new Cummins to tow their buggies with.

I wasn't preaching about the rules and I wan't talking about just my threads. This thread said why does rme have a bad rep well in my opinion thats one of the reasons. If you don't want what is being sold move on thats it.

I think you're complaining about a pretty minor problem. I haven't seen much of that in the time that I've been here. Not enough to lambaste the site over it, anyway. Sour grapes? :)

The for sale threads are ok, but I laugh when people like to tell other people what a good deal is, or the people selling don't even know the facts about what they are selling, then they get corrected so a new buyer doesn't get screwed; then the seller gets all butthurt. I will admit it. I'm a big jerk, it's all my fault:shawn:

I do think our group has gotten much better compared to when I started this thread. Overall I know that RME is a great place & I understand you can't please all the people, all the time. I've also come to the conclusion that people will talk, especially with something successful as RME has been. I'm alright with that happening, which has been a big thing for me to overcome. Strange, huh?

In the end this community has done very well, even with my inadequate leadership & computer skills. You guys are the ones that make RME what it is, despite my best intentions. :D Let's continue to grow in the right direction. I can say that with all the feedback we've gotten, there are some changes in store that will improve your use of the forum.

This might be part of it. SBR posted and Herzog listened, Sami jumped on his case and then Tacoma jumped on his case...

Everyones trying to be better than everyone else, but its all wheelin in the end.

If you do something stupid (like sbr starting two almost identical for sale threads) and then complain about something related you should expect to get jumped about it
