will motor fit

I have a 5.3 vortec chevy motor. In my jeep is a 350 chev with a turbo 350 tranny. will this motor bolt up to my tranny. what do i need to go to computor to make it run . please any help would be nice

Yes, It will bolt up to the bellhousing - However you're motor mounts will have to be re-fabbed or you'll have to buy the kit from AA. that adapts them to old style motor mounts. The vortec motor is about 1/5 inches longer then a regular small block, but it fits better under a firewall becuase the 5.3 doesn't have a distributor. There are some things you're going to have to do to the computer so the engine will rev. ( it'll think the trans is in neutral all the time)

I'm not sure where you'll need to interface to what you have of the 5.3L harness. There are a number of places (I remember a thread about that on here somewhere) that specialize in adapting your harness to work independantly of the vehicle harness. I'm sure it will matter what year and options came in the donor vehicle what you can strip off and how you'd want to attach that to your current electrical system.

I think you were lied to. In a normal small block you would have 3 ignition start and alternator. with a pcm controlled vehicles you hav to do grounds too. you need to get a good book on that engine.
