It sounds like horse ****. And its louder than fawk. Noone in the backseat will be able to hear anything and you'll have your radio maxed to even make out the words.

If you want loud and good sounding put a Flowmaster 40 on and a turn down after that. Or ideally a new 2.5" tailpipe.

I agree just throw on a Flowmaster, then at least you will have a good sound and you wont get fumigated from the fumes building underneath your rig making everyone inside sick.

ok well thanks guys, well i've rode around in my friends XJ with no cat or muffler and it's not that bad ( imo ) i might just try it out for a few days and if i can stand it i'll bolt it back on.

but also im more worried about the neg. effects on my engine from the lack of back pressure on the exhaust valves.. anyone know anything about that?

Back pressure = bad. Scavenging = good.

Anyone want my Flowmaster? I'm tired of it....too loud. I'll be replacing it soon with whatever I can find that is the least annoying and loud muffler I can find.

come engines actually do need back pressure to run correct... I know my mustang got better mileage with the muffler on then it did with it off... and the engine ran better too..

cutting the muffler off after the cat even with a down pipe is dangerous due to the exhaust fumes coming up into the passenger compartment and if you have to drive with windows up it can and will kill you.... that right there is a big negative in my book...

and here I am getting stressed out because my jeep sounds like a tractor and I can't find anyone that will bend the pipe the way I want it done.

mine dumps after the cat right now, and sounds like ****. It's embarrassing to drive. I have to stay off the throttle and accelerate slow so I don't feel like a complete douche bag.

I wouldn't even drive it to the grocery store last night because I felt like such a clown.

does that answer your question?
