ok well thanks guys. well i actually decided that i think im going to get a cherrybomb Class pack since i've heard they sound good and there cheap ( $20 )
I know you don't want to listen and you want to do your own thing, and thats fine. But I (and many others) speak from experience. It will sound like **** and piss everyone else off.
For a glasspack to sound good you need a longer one, >$20, and it needs alot of air flow(i.e. big horsepower).
You can come listen to my XJ with 2.5 pipe a flowmaster 40 and a turndown after the muff if you want. I had a cheap muffler before that and it wasn't loud enough for me so I know where you're coming from. I've run it with no muff or cat before in an emergency and I hated it.
Also there is little power gain to be had. I'd say maybe ten horsepower from the entire exhaust. Cutting your airbox, plug wires, and a lower thermostat all made bigger differences IMO.
well i dont have the money for a FM 40 or somethin like that. all the money i do have to spend goes to gas which is allmost $4 a gallon here now...
unless any of you can sugest somethin in that price range that will still sound good. ( loud but not enough to piss people off )
and also we took off my friends exhaust today and it does not shound like ****. it sounds bad ass, i dont care what any of you have to say and a lot of people agreed with us. ( including older folk )
