Can someone please tell me what the diff is between a v/6 axel and a 4 banger axel. Also what is the wms, and is there a diff between the wms on a 6, vs a 4 banger housing.

v6 hosuing I thought have bigger bearings and have 8 vanes on the sides of the thrid memember. 4 banger have 6 vanes. I believe wms is 58 inches.

....and the early rear's are 55"wide and the 86 and up are 58"wide for 4 or 6 cyl rear axle's
