Trooper Lund was killed in 1993 while in pursuit of two men wanted for a “gas skip” out of Thompson, Utah and stolen vehicle out of Indiana. The Mustang is kept and maintained by the UHP Honorary Colonels Association who sees that it proudly participates in the parade each year.

Another day of rescue training. Today we did patient packaging, then used our ladder truck as a high point for self rescue, then raising and lowering. Haul systems are cool! 3 guys on a 5:1 makes quick work of even our heaviest guys.

Self rescue, meaning you pull yourself up with a 4:1 pulley system. The yellow is a safety line.
