Week 1 Day 1: 6/6/4/4/10
Week 1 Day 2: 6/7/4 and then I collapsed, couldn't do another. Way too sore. Next time I decide to go for extra credit on Day One, somebody smack me.

I'd take a week off to recover. Can't say I know anything, but I "think" you aren't doing yourself much good hitting it when you are still that sore from the previous session.

Yeah, I overdid it for sure. Which is stupid, because I didn't do anything. I don't think I need a week to recover, but I'll definitely take it easy. Light duty workout on Friday, probably do my pushups off a bench or something just to remind the shoulders who's the boss, and then I'll start week one over on Monday.

I had a similar problem with my squats this week. Even though I busted out 100 on the test and still felt strong, I have been hurting bad! My problem isn't strength it's mobility. My body was too tight to be pushing so hard so I have to postpone my squats till I feel capable to go them safely again

Put something under your heels to elevate them an inch or so it will help with mobility. And buy a foam roller to roll out those quads and ass

I'm 8 episodes into your podcast now, I'm really digging it! Hopefully I can convert part of my big ass basement into a home gym like you did

I think I'm going to jump ahead on this cheat sheet. Today was 6/8/8/7/8 but I finished with 15 totaling 44. Does anyone think I'll regret jumping foreword a week to 7/9/6/7/10/8 totaling 47?

Light duty today. Still a little sore but not near as bad as Wednesday, so I did ten real pushups when I got up this morning and another ten now, think I could have made it 12 or 13 but I didn't push it. I'll do another set of ten before I go to bed, and then take the weekend off.

So I do a fitness related podcast. It's been a lot of fun for me and Has really help keep me motivated. The thing we preach is sustainability and consistency. If you can't picture yourself eating the way you are for the rest your life there's no point in doing it because statistically it won't work long-term. We preach a model of flexible dieting or some refer to it as if it fits your macros Iifym. The idea is that it's OK to eat some junk food as long as you can fit it into your protein carbs and fat count for the day. We don't believe America has a weight-loss problem since six out of seven overweight people will lose a substantial amount to weight at one point in their life. America has a weight maintenance problem since of those six out of seven people 95% of them gain the weight back within three years. Very few people want to live the rest of their life thinking of food is just fuel and not enjoying it.

This is obviously just my opinion but I do think that statistics and studies show that anyone can lose a substantial amount of weight but almost nobody keeps it off long term.

100% agree. The one thing is I'm a firm believer in a good reset of the body every once in a while. Get it purged and running how it should then it will know how to use those carbs and macros you're giving it.

FWIW, been listening to the podcast and I'm digging it. :) For anyone that wants a good listen, check it out. Last 20ish minutes of episode 2 has a good discussion on dieting (I hate the word diet as it shouldn't be a diet)...and a good solo performance of the sun will come out :D

No pushups today, so I jogged. Well, stumbled. Lumbered, really. I'm going to need better shoes if I'm going to do any more of that. But I did almost three miles in forty minutes, walking more than jogging. I'm going to try and jog three times a week, because Kevin doth not get fit on pushups alone.

There's no jogging!
Shoes will certainly help in running, you can go to almost any running shoe place and get fitted.
Have fun out there, soon you will be joining me out on Antelope Island dodging buffalo and stuff.

Ugh, I HATE running. I'd rather do almost anything over running...burpees for 30 minutes, sure so long as I don't have to run. :D But you're right, if your goal is to get fit, you'll need more than just push-ups. :)

Nice job kevin! Do yourself a favor and get some good shoes before hitting it too hard. It will pay back big time in happiness and healing.

I called it quits on Friday. I have been so sick that I haven't wanted to do anything. I feeling pretty good today.. so maybe I'll start again in a couple days..

It's good to listen to your body, if it's too weak just let it rest. Get better and make a solid plan to begin fresh on Monday.
