I should be sleeping because it was a great day... my son went 3 for 3 at his swim meet and dropped over 60 seconds between the three races. I got to hang out with my family, had a bunch of laughs, went to the gym and I spent a few hours working on a business project I'm super passionate about. I swore I wouldn't watch the news or pay any attention at all... but clown-world got me, hahaha.

So... here's something I put together regarding what exactly has happened since Biden's first day regarding gas and oil. I'm sure we could create a nice gas-price graph to coincide but I'd rather save what's left of my good day, haha.

Here are links to many articles of actual stuff that happened leading up to today and I've probably (definitely) missed some things:

No more subsidies for the fuel industry (began Jan 21 and full effect by 22)

Ending leases on fed land - Jan 21

April and May 21, telling the finance industry to divest from related energy investments

June 21, XL permits cancelled/revoked.

August 21, requested both OPEC and Russia increased production for us.

august 2021 biden requests OPEC russia increase oil production

December 21, federal aid was halted for US fuel projects overseas.

February federal land permits were stopped/withheld or delayed.

March 8, Russian oil imports to US are banned.

Then, talks to OPEC and Venezuela but not Canada or the folks attempting to permit known-good wells.

The president has nothing to do with the price of oil, it’s a global commodity…which while that’s sort of true, their declared war on fossil fuels from all the way back to campaigning are taking effect. Like pumping more oil, it’s not a quick turnaround. Their policy decisions are directly impacting not only energy prices but the prices of anything made from petroleum by products, and anything that requires some sort of shipping. It’s going to get uglier I think, a self inflicted recession. None of them care aside from getting re-elected because they’re still getting paid.

Remember all the politician’s and folks telling us to “stay home and do your part?”

They all still got a paycheck despite not going to work.

There are a lot of factors that go into determining the cost of oil on the global oil market. However when the US cancels oil lease sales and all the other things Biden has done in the first year we have gone from a net exporter to being a net importer. That move right there already puts us at the mercy of other countries who are not going to lift a finger to increase production to help the US. Regardless of oil prices we should not be trying to buy oil from countries that do not like us.

Oh, personal attacks! So adult, so ALPHA BRO! Of course there is propaganda, this is a war. The fact that you are surprised by it and think that it is part of some vast hoodwink is surprising, but I guess it shouldn't be. Titanic and all that...

And of course Zelensky was an actor. If you had been paying attention to Ukraine before two weeks ago you'd know this was a major talking point when he was running for office and when he was elected. And if that means he's a puppet, well he's doing a pretty convincing job! I mean, he's managed to pull the wool over the eyes of everyone from Ariana Huffington to Ben Shapiro and everyone in between. So the Judeo-Space Laser wielding lizard men have managed to galvanize the entire political spectrum into believing him. That's some pretty good acting!

You keep being you, Shane. Your posts are always good for a laugh. 👍
This is for Stephen and Herzog. Bull is Bull and Propaganda is Propaganda. Don't let your personal feelings obscure the view. I remember the 2nd WW and hate the Japs, Nazis, Ities, and Russians then it was love the Russians and then hate the Russians and love the Japanese, Germans, and Italians. It all depends on what the politicians and news want you to believe. I know people from just about every nationality and race and they are all good loving people. What confuses us today is we also get the actual facts from social media and it is up to us to pick out the truth. George Washington said " “to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world.” good advice but almost impractical in todays world. Love you guys and keep up the banter.

I didn't realize that the company had that much control over the cars. Scary.

I know chevy can unlock my doors through the onstar.. and I get email updates about my cars status. This drives me crazy enough.

My plane Jane base model can unlock and start the truck through an app. No subscription required.

Onstar can track you and shut down your car if you are in a police chase.

Even when your subscription for that ends they will still monitor it. I was power braking my truck and got a CEL for throttle sensor (or something) that went away after a few minutes. The next day the dealership emailed me to say I should bring it in. Ridiculous.

I guess the question becomes how are the cars getting their data back to the mothership? :spork:
Are they using your cell phone connection? Standalone data connection via cell? something else?
some light reading:
But most modern cars have wireless systems that can transmit the telematics data to the manufacturer. Consumer Reports magazine estimated that 32 of 44 brands offered some form of wireless data connection in their 2018 model-year cars.

I don't think my car needs a monthly subscription for data...
