I know this land is Federal. And with Bishop's PLI and continual threat of suing the Federal government for control of lands, the designation keeps it that way. It was far from "not in danger of going anywhere."

This isn't going to be popular, but as a 4x4 and outdoor enthusiast, I'm glad more lands are going under federal control. I don't know what millionaires you guys are all buddies with, but I've been blocked by a lot more "Private Property - No Trespassing" signs than I have fed signs...

For reliability and maintenance it does. The conversion was done before I bought the Jeep though, so I can't speak to any performance difference.

$100 or best offer I have a Chrysler 8.25 out of a 1998 Jeep XJ. The pinion bearing is toast; and there is a ton of play at the pinion yoke. I have not pulled the cover to check what damage, if any, there is to the gears. It has been sitting outside for a while now. Other than that...

Bracing the steering box is a MUST! Also, look into doing a WJ knuckle swap for a cheap(er) way to get better steering and brakes.

What rear axle do you have? If it's the D35, I wouldn't sink any money in it at all. Depending on how extreme you want to go, I'm more than happy with my limited slip rear and ARB front. IMO, the front needs a selectable locker since the D30 in the XJ doesn't have selectable hubs. The rear...

Here I was thinking the JKU was the new XJ... Serious off-road capability while still accommodating the car seat, mother-in-law, dog, cooler, tools, spares, and food for everyone else in the group.
