I thought person-to-person sales were OK as long as both parties were in the same state. I thought if one was an out of state, it needed to go through an FFL.

I'm kind of digging the fiberglass over expanded metal idea. 3/4" exp. metal isn't nearly as heavy as you must be thinking Scott. It's 90% open area. 3/4" #9 expanded metal only weighs 1.8 lbs/sf. Sure, it's thicker than the original roof. But I'll bet that weight-wise, it's not too far off...

I can fully respect that. If I could get away with 6'x7', I'd probably do the same thing. Ironically, we've really been thinking of scrapping the RTT altogether and just getting a 10'x10' Kodiak tent. I really like them. Plus with a roof rack we "may" be able to not need a trailer at all...
