Thanks flexyfool. That's exactly the kind of stuff I wanted to hear. With 40s would 4.88 gearing be enough? I was thinking 5.13. I want about a 150 to 1 crawl ratio.
No. I love Rockwells but not for this build. Max tire size would be 40s but am a firm believer in over building. Power wise will be 500 for sure. Maybe 550. Still trying to figure out exactly what I want and have plenty of time to do so. Plus I like knowing and learning why someone would build...
Hey everyone. It's me again. I've been better but things are just moving super slow for me. Nothing has been done to the truck so I constantly brainstorm for when it will start. So here it goes. Sticking one ton axles and you could build them any way you want. What would you do. Junk yard cases...
Axle gearing is the cheapest mod and you have to do it eventually for bigger tires. So I'd do that first. Instead of a doubled. Have you looked into the Stak Monster 3-Speeds. That's what I want to get. They even have one 5:44 to 1 low range.
Thanks. I absolutely love this transmission and want it to last. Mine has over 144,000 and has had a hard life as a mudding toy and Park Service truck before I got it. Still runs like a champ.
I have been out of the four wheeling scene for awhile due to getting hurt on the job. Still alive though and trying to get back into the groove of things. Anyway. Nothing has been done to my truck yet and still waiting on the cage to get started but when the t case come out. So is the tranny for...
Well I don't have lockers so alot of crawling or soft sands hills don't do well. Just everything else. Done mostly rocky trails but once boulders show up. I stop. Offroad quite abit off trans mountain and border highway though in the lava fields. Guzmans peak and Kilburns Hole. Yes. My truck...
Since more gearing talk has taken place. Does anyone have experience with Stak Monsters in full size rigs? I have thought long and hard on how to get gearing I want. I want my truck to be a epedition vehicle eventually but want wide gear hselection. That's why I'm asking about the Stak. Atlas...
