All I can say about Tom Wood is that he has easily given me the best customer service anyone can ask for. On two seperate occasions he went over and above his call of duty to make me happy and I know he ate $$$'s doing it. All of my driveline biz in the future will always go to Tom. :)

Let me see if I can explain them without close-up pics... I welded a piece of square tube to the side of the tow reciever. Then I took another piece of square tube that slides over the piece that I welded on. A bolt secures the two pieces together. All you do is unbolt the bolt and slide...

Here's a pic of the one's I built for my old Jeep. I would never have put them on, but the new owner insisted ;) total cost was about $30. $20 for the flaps at Checker and $10 in material. They're removeable for wheeling (if needed).

It would bolt up since the bolt patterns are identical but you'll definitely need to change the input shaft. The input shaft is REALLY long. I swapped a 242 in my WJ and I took the input shaft out of the stock 249 case.

I personally think the 4.7 and 46RHE is not a good choice for a buggy. I wheeled with that combo for 2 years. The tranny never broke on me, but I have been told by the new owner that he has had some issues with it. For a while I was planning on building a WJ buggy and I spoke with several...
