Cab over camper & car hauler... what truck?

Many of my friends have owned the 8.1. Fantastic trucks! My favorite was the manual. He could pull off the same mileage that my 5.3 is getting around town. The autos never really got much better than 10mpg's, but one was lifted and on 35's and the other one was heavily rodded. Bullet proof...

    Imported mini-trucks

I worked for a tire shop that has them in for repairs every once and a while. I asked what they think of them and nobody likes them. They're built extremely cheap and very underpowered. I think for an old guy doing small farm chores, one might hold up fine. For any of us wanting to take one up...

Transmission grinding only from 2 to 3

I would get a second opinion. A Toyota with that many miles shouldn't need synchros already unless the wrong oil got put in or somebody really sucks at driving a manual did a number on it

4 cyl TJ mpg's? Other small 4x4 questions

    My buddy's 5-speed 4cyl. Taco pulls over 20 with 33's. I'd own one if I didn't need the space

I totally agree on driving in California! I was always terrified till I actually experienced it. People look out for each other and make it a lot less stressful than most people think.

That's in the bed. I'm talking about if it was on a sled deck. That would be a pretty steep climb

    Rescue and Recovery help

I'm up here in Cache Valley too. I just keep my eye on the offroad Facebook groups. There are a couple recovery groups that are dedicated only to rescue and recovery so you can set those notifications as a priority and not have to worry about getting slammed with notifications.

    Toyota 1995 Tacoma Build

We almost made it to the sinks the weekend before. We were the only ones to had made tracks up to the point where you took those pictures! If I didn't have the baby with me, we would've pushed a little harder. Packing out a 1 year old didn't sound fun

    The Ham Radio Thread

Thanks for the info! I just started studying to get my license and this info clears up a few questions I had. I also have a few questions if someone would mind answering for me. The cheap Baofeng's can communicate with the FRS and GMRS radios, right? If so, how would you get on the same...

Anyone know of a HAM cram class?

I have the attention span of a 5 year old and the memory of a 90 year old. :D I'm gonna have to make flash cards for this one!

Anyone know of a HAM cram class?

I would love to attend a meet-up too, but I live clear up in Logan. Maybe I'll have to get off work a couple hours early and head down. I just bought a couple Baofeng's and I've been trying to do some studying before turning them on. Ive downloaded some study guides and practice test stuff and...
