Hi all, I recently purchased a 1980 1ton Chevy box truck for parts from the Pleasant Grove Water Dept. My buddy works there and we bid $1,000 bucks for the thing because I needed the axles (front kingpin dana 60, rear 14 bolt) and t-case. After we paid for it and were waiting to dismantle...

Also, check to see if you have a trailer plug in the rear that may have become damaged or has a shorted plug stuck in it. Sometimes if the trailer plug wiring gets hosed it can cause the whole system to be horked up. -Adam

It'll probably be cheaper for you to go find another D-44 housing, then grind the welds out on the knuckles and spin 'em a bit. Then re-weld (after trueing up the knuckle) and going for it. Just my 2cents, Adam

Sounds to me like you are dealing with the AMC 360 vs. a Dodge version, especially if the rig was originally a 304. A 76 CJ7 with a TH400 probably was/is oringally equipped with quadra-trac... is that the case on yours? All this being said... you probably have the standard AMC bell housing bolt...
