That is good, but it's also very likely not "fixed", just quieted down for now. That much noise means stuff is worn, and you've filled the gaps with grease...for now. If you don't have a spare CV, start looking for another one now so it can be replaced later.

It's my understanding, you can either buy a new driveshaft or have it rebuilt by a good driveline shop.

When I had it rebuilt back in SLC, the shop couldn't find new parts for the double cardan joint, it we rebuilt with used parts.

There's a bit of a talent vacuum in FL, so I may end up getting a new one.

I hear those CV shafts are tough to come by. I wonder if Tom Woods has anything. I visited their shop last year and I was beyond impressed.
