Big work weekend last weekend.
I got the rear axle completely assembled along with adding some gusseting to the link truss. Driveshafts are built, including the carrier bearing system up front is built and in. Engine skid is in. All brakelines are plumbed, all fluids filled, Atlas truss is built/in. Just need to swap the radiator, and wire up the shifter at this point.
Sucks that XMAS falls in two days because I could likely have it done for a shake down run next weekend. But, I figure a New Years run is likely going to happen someplace depending on weather.

Got the new radiator in yesterday and built the cradle system. But need to move the coolant temp and fan temp switches to the opposite side

Getting really close now. Spent the weekend buttoning up some final stuff, cutting panels, and painting. Built a roof rack that will help protect the light bar a little too. Need to finish up some more stuff this week, but with weather supposed to be improving later this week, I am hoping to get out on a trail next weekend for a shakedown run.
Anyway, the first set of panels is done and painted. This were test panels, and I slowly modified them until I liked the look. I do have to admit that I like the look of this chassis a lot more without the panels on it, but I think I have come up with a good solid look. I chose to go with a burgundy paint color. Its just a rattle can Krylon that I cleared with a few coats. I have some stickers being made for them as well. Essentially, these will be my everyday beater panels. I will have these laid out in CAD soon so I can cut a few more for my show/event panels.
FWIW, the unpainted panels were trimmed down as I really thought it made the buggy look way too long. Wheelbase is now 112". Belly height pictured is 17.5". It will be adjusted to 19" for trail use.

Awesome. I know the feeling, with any project the first drive is always excitement mixed with anticipation. My wife knows to not distract me with anything during those times to allow me to focus on the vehicle. Enjoying the first drive as well as listening for any issues and getting a feel for it. It is like dating all over again and getting a feel for her.
