Family reunion this past weekend in Panguitch Lake. 25+ people crammed into a cabin didn't sound appealing to me so I pitched a tent and threw my bag on the ground. 3 more nights in a bag, which brings me to a total of 15 nights.

Sure I'll play, but I forgot most my trips off the top of my head.

These are what I can remember.

Bag nights

Jan-sand hollow 4 nights
Feb- sand hollow 3 nights
March- Mojave 3 nights
March- overton NV 2 nights
March- st George 2 nights
March- deep creeks 2 nights
April- poison springs 2 nights
April- SRSwell 2 nights
May- SRSwell 5 nights
June- Rockport 1 night
June-SRSwell 1 night
July- still water res 4 nights
July - strawberry res 4 nights
Edit: July- strawberry res 4 more nights.

36 nights and got a few 1 week long trips coming up still. I know I've got more just can't think of them right now

Just added 4 more nights ( 7-28) which brings me to 40

Add 3 more nights at Stillwater res. So I'm at 43 :)

I love that area! We have a family camp down there just 10 miles from Panguitch. It's so far from me that I don't utilize it like I should. Once every couple of years is all I get down there. Cedar Breaks, Bryce, can't beat it.

I guess I'll throw up my numbers....

March 21-22: Moab with Family (2 nights)
March 28: Expedition Utah PET (1 night)
June 17-18: Moab with Friends (2 nights)
June 19-21: S. Utah Backcountry with WC (3 nights)
July 3-4: Mirror Lake with Family (2 nights)

10

The list looks better written down, I didn't think I had gotten out this much and with a few more trips planned I think I'll post up some decent numbers for a novice.

August 15: Washington Lake
Brings me to 11

If you count the amount of fish I caught on Friday with my fly pole I might could compete with some of you guys. My little brother and I caught 20 a piece in about 6 hours. It was a lot of fun. Pic for proof, just remember that my hands are huge like the rest of me. :D

Total is 26 nights!!

We went on a great backpacking trip to the Boulder Chain Lakes. There are 7 lakes in the "chain". We hit 5 of them.

8.5 miles each way, 2100ft elevation gain, camping at 8400ft.

We had scouts from barely 12 to 15.

We saw cool animals: Deer (two 25-30" bucks), elk, racoons, rabbits, toads, hawks, falcons, a black bear, small rainbow trout and 36-40" Chinook salmon.

Good times!

It rained, and snowed, and sleeted about 80% of the time, and everyone kept a really good attitude.

That is what kids need to learn.

***After looking at how clean Mesha's list was I decided to try to do that:

January 1 night on Southfork/skiing
March 4 Nights
April 3 Nights turkey hunting near Chesterfield, ID
May 3 Nights @ Birch Creek/Lone Pine, ID
June 1 Night backpacking on the Bear River
June 2 Nights Driggs/Victor Idaho fishing/family
July 1 Night in Island Park - fishing the mighty Madison River in Montana
July 2 Nights Little Lemhi scout camp
August 3 Nights in Yellowstone Lewis Lake/Shoshone Lake
August 1 Night Moody Meadows Girls Campout
August 20-03 Boulder Chain Lakes - Boulder White Clouds

I will have to go back through this entire thread to see what I missed.

Steve, how about some pics of Yosemite, I am tempted to take my boys there. How was it? Worth it?

I'm still working on the pics. I grew up there and I absolutely love yosemite. It was on fire when I went so we weren't able to hike half dome. Half dome permits are a pain to get, but that is a hike your kids will remember for the rest of their life. It's a majestic place. If you're going to drive all the way out there, I also recommend heading north and checking out the Redwoods. Hiking in a redwood forest where you can barely see the sky due to the foliage is an amazing experience. I'll have the video done in the next 6 months. :)
