I'm blatantly copying this game from backcountrypost, who copied it from backpacker mag. :)

Challenge: log all of your nights you slept in your sleeping bag outdoors this year (whether under the stars or in a tent).

No prize or anything just the satisfaction that you camped out more nights than your fellow RMEers.

Start the clock on Jan 1st 2014

I fully expect DAA to win this, but I have really enjoyed logging my nights so far.

Naw... Not a chance of that. I'm sure you'll end up with more than me for 2014 and I'm sure a few other people will as well. Don't think I'll even break into the 50's this year. Those years of 70+ are long behind me and not likely ever going to be repeated.

Update: Sadly I'm not getting as many as I would have hoped during my travels here in South America. It's winter and while we are prepared to camp in cold weather, safety concerns and our super long days of driving don't always lend to camping. Does it count if the hotel is cruddy enough to warrant sleeping in my bag in the hotel? ;)

I may be missing the whole point but I think in a camp trailer counts too. True it may not be as hard core as sleeping under the stars but it is still a day in the hills, a night around a fire and just generally enjoying the outdoors. SO, feel free to dismiss my entries if you disagree.

I slept 3 nights in my bag, inside my toy hauler March 20, 21 and 22.
In the toy hauler April 10, 11 and 12.

I think a night in a trailer in the hills is at least as countable as a night in a tent in the yard.

I am not so sure about a night in a trailer in the yard though :)
