Good Light Weight Rain Jacket?

We are looking to get my teenager a good light rain jacket - that he can keep for a long time. My wife and I both have Red Ledge Thunderlights - I assume thats the model we got. We got them at Sportsman Warehouse - they come in little stuff sacks. We have probably only used them a handful of times - but hey worked.... Sportsmans Warehouse has the same thing for $50.00 now.

Does anyone know of a better jacket for the money? Wanting light/pack small.....

Thanks
Kirk

My favorite light-weight rain jacket is a Cabelas PacLite GoreTex Rainy River Parka. Normally around $150. I bought mine and my wife's for around $69 or $79 - they seem to go on sale a couple of times a year. Not quite as cheap as what you are indicating, but well proven ice climbing and kept me dry in all kinds of other conditions. It comes with a little mesh stuff sack about the size of a 1L nalgene bottle. Part of the reason I favor some of this cabelas stuff is they offer tall sizes - I am tall and really skinny.
