so ive decided to through some real axels under the tj, the rear is a Dana 70 with a detroit, and the front is a HP Dana 60 kingpin :) also with a detroit.

so far ive built the rear truss and have all the links mocked up for the rear. also have the coilovers mocked up. Im into the rear truss about 20 hrs. im integrating a cooler/sub woofer rack into my cage that i hope turns out really well.

here are some pics of the whole process as of now. more to come, i hope to have most the tubing done in the rear today!!!

a question, when you notched the frame for the CO's why didn't you just run the frame rail straight back?

thus eliminating the drop at the back and giving you better clearence.

He's out working on it again..... I'm pretty sure that notch is from when RL did coilovers on his stock axles.

I was just asking him why he didn't push the back out farther and he said he couldn't go much more with his frame notch, so he just reused the same links. If it is a newly done notch..... I guess I'll have to go over and ***** slap him.

I think he just took the paint off of it. Heres an old picture from back in Feb when he had the RL upgrade done... It looks the same but painted black.

Sorry for the size of the damn thing. I don't know what you did to it Meat! It's from your old post here:

EDIT: Removed the big as$ picture.... Meat will have to fix it, since it was his picture in the beginning :D

then explain the blueing around the weld area:rolleyes:

Can't explain that.. But if you look at these two pictures the notch and hoop look identical, other than the black coating and the rubber divider.

Here's the two pictures, but you'll have to click on them to make them bigger to see the notch.. Maybe Meat knows how to do it differently?
