Make RME Rockcrawling Again!

The day after the RME BBQ in Moab, we decided to do some scenic backcountry traveling and hit the Lockhart Basin trail. There was a fair amount of traffic on the way in, but the last real group we saw was stopped at Hurrah Pass. After that, we just about has the place to ourselves.

Here's a few pics from the drive...

Our timing was perfect, the desert's cactus were in bloom and added some great color to the landscape.

You can see the 'White Rim' in the top of this photo, on the other side of the Colorado River.

On the way out, passing some of the campgrounds, I ran across this neat Mitsubishi Fuso 4x4 camper.... I really like it!

I believe it was something like 50 miles on the trail, we only saw a couple ATV'ers at the beginning of the trail, then a handful of mountain bikers mid-way thru. The bikers were on their 2nd day or riding! We asked them if they were good, needed any cold water or anything and they said they were fine! Crazy bastards! It was a great trip, incredible scenery and the colors of the red rock and the flowers were too cool.

Man you get to have all the fun! :greg: That Mitsu is pretty cool I have always kicked around the idea (or better yet day dreamed ) of building a Fuso or Isuzu shortened up a bit on 38" XML's, armored up with a much smaller FWC or AK camper on the back :D.

Anyway looks like a good time!

Glad you guys enjoyed it, the trip was nice... very scenic! The colors of the land out there are amazing, the pics do a little bit of justice to the area.
