Oh, I also changed the Transfer Case oil. Drained out the old smelly blackish stuff and put in some nice fresh 75w140 full synthetic oil. The gears in the case sound quieter now.

I also removed one of the jump seats from the back.

It feels a bit zippier now that it has lost some weight.

I like them. I've put close to 3000 miles on them. They have some road noise. But that's expected with a mud tire.

They balanced well and dont seem overly heavy for a loaf range e.

Im going down to Moab next week. So I'll report back.

...I don't know why people are so afraid of working on Land Rovers. all you need are basic Metric hand tools. I can carry everything I need in a small tool bag.

I don't know that it's the complexity that is intimidating, it's the frequency. :p

Cool to know the ACE stuff is pretty easy to remove, and hopefully easy to upgrade back to a simple setup. I've got to assume there are some computer controls involved with the system - what have you had to do there? Any nuisance dash lights to deal with?

Cool, thanks. Getting ideas for my next replacement set, and those you put on are too good a deal to ignore.

We're hitting up Moab in a few weeks too. Time to get Trooper on some red rock for the first time.

I needed a place to carry gas. I hate roof racks. So the back door was my only option for some extra gas.

I had to figure out a way to mount it to the door without taking up too much room.

I wanted to make it removable so i can take it off when i don't need it.

Broke out the welder and got to work. I built it so if I do need to change a tire, I can just unbolt the gas can mount and then access my wheel and tire. Once I get a full size spare, I can flip the mount upside down, redrill my jerry can holes and be back in business.

Finally found a good place to. Mount my CB. It was really getting annoying lying on my shifter or between the seat and centre console.

Finally got to take this thing out for some real 4 wheeling in Moab and Canyonlands. I ran Fins and Things, Hells Revenge, Elephant Hill through Bobby's Hole and through Beef Basin

I've decided on my next round of modifications. Because this thing does not have any axle articulation. And the traction control doesn't work good enough in some situations. Could be crappy brake pads though.

I'm somewhat disappointed in the truck. I know I've only had it 4 months. Seems like my old P38 seemed much more capable on trails. The Traction Control was much better on my P38 as was the suspension.

So the list:

Rear Panhard bar (delete watts linkage)
Longer Rear Shocks (the stock rear shocks are not cutting it)
Extend wiring for the ABS sensors
Longer Rear brake lines
Detroit or similar for the rear axle
Rocker Protection
Rear Bumper w/ Swingout

I know, I know, this thread is somewhat boring. I never actually build anything myself. I buy it all. I just don't have the time to fabricate anything anymore with my work schedule. Besides, I'd rather take the time I would have used to fabricate something, and make money working. Its a sickness.

Bought this baby off KSL tonight. Not the prettiest Disco roof rack, but I care more about the function then the form. So without further ado....................................

My new used roof rack.............................

I'm guessing somewhere between 15 and 17. I can usually go 350 miles on 16-18 gallons of gas. If I don't have the cargo box or roof rack on. The little 4.0 engine does pretty good on gas on the highway.

I drove from Moab through Canyonlands and through the Ruins. I used about 3/4 of a tank by the time I got back to Moab. I have a 24 gallon tank. So I feel it has pretty good range, especially if I carry a can of gas.
