My Dad was cleaning out his garage and gave me his old 12V generator that he built many years ago. We used to use it to charge our trailer batteries. I fired it up and it runs great but doesn't seem to put out any voltage. This thing has an old car generator on it that most likely needs service. I thought about putting an alternator on it but would need to excite the internal coil. I'm not sure its worth fixing up or pulling the motor off and let some kid use it for a minibike.
